VFE The Scream Overdrive Pedal
The most duplicated overdrive in history has one major flaw -- it’s not transparent. It’s purposefully designed to roll off a huge amount of highs & lows, and therefore it can suck the life from your tone. The solution? Give the user control over that high & low end roll off. That simple idea is behind The Scream, which also gives you 3 types of clipping and two internal controls for further tweakability. Utilizing the original 1S1588 clipping diodes and JRC4558D op amp, The Scream is true to its vintage heritage while adding a wide range of new tones.

Features:
Drive: Controls the amount of gain in the circuit. Clockwise = more gain, and counterclockwise = less gain. Overall, The Scream has more gain at max, and less gain at minimum than the original TS-series circuits. Tone: This active TONE control boost or cuts frequencies above the point set by the internal FREQUENCY control. Ships at the stock 3.2kHz setting. Level: Controls the overall output of the overdrive. Fat: This control varies a pre-existing high-pass filter from the original circuit. Because it is located in the gain section, turning this control clockwise increases bass but decreases overall gain. The FAT control is great for adding girth to single coils, or simply retaining your tone when using the pedal as a clean boost. Roll-off point range: 60Hz to 720Hz Filter: This control varies a pre-existing low-pass filter from the original circuit. Clockwise = less highs, counterclockwise = more highs. Roll-off point range: 650Hz to FLAT S-L-A: This 3-way clipping switch selects between symmetrical (TS808) or asymmetrical (Boss SD-1) types of clipping. The middle position is either a diode lift or 5mm red LEDs, depending on how you set an internal DIP switch. Internal Controls: The top left internal trimpot I call the SMOOTH control, which is in series with the clipping diodes. It’s perfect for reducing the overall drive and compression of the clipping, creating a smoother overall distortion. The far right trimpot controls the frequency roll-off point for the TONE control. Great for changing the TONE knob into more of a treble booster or presence control. Ships at the stock 3.2kHz setting, but I can set this to any frequency upon request. Range: 1.2kHz to 7.2kHz There is also a DIP switch that affects the type of clipping in the A & L modes. Select between the standard 1 x 2 asymmetrical setup, or a more asymmetrical 1 x 3 clipping setup. Additionally, you can choose between a diode lift or 5mm red LEDs for the L clipping mode.
